I’m excited to announce the release of my first album of piano compositions Eight-Bit Impromptus: 12 Pieces for Solo Piano. Each tune was inspired by sounds from my childhood, namely the musical themes from games played on eight-bit consoles like Nintendo.
I’m probably the world’s worst salesperson, but I’m going to point out all the reasons you might not want to buy a copy:
It’s hard to put a style or genre label on this music. I put it under jazz though there isn’t any improvisation. Several tracks sound more like contemporary classical, movie soundtracks, etc. After all, the inspiration for the album was stylistically just as varied.
Second, this album is rather short. Each track averages just two minutes, yielding less than thirty minutes for a full-priced album. (There’s a way around that coming up!)
All that said, I love these short pieces and believe some of you will too.
My favorite place to send potential listeners is to bandcamp. You can stream the whole album for free there, and—if you decide to buy it—you can name your price (including $0.)
It’s also available through these retailers:
Apple Music
Spotify
iTunes
Google Play/YouTube
Amazon
Tidal
Thanks, and please share this with anyone you think might enjoy it.
