This piece was written with the intention of turning it into a choral setting with Biblical text. I liked how it sounded on piano so much that I thought it deserved to be an instrumental arrangement as well. This is in four-part chorale style harmony. Although the texture is traditional, many of the sonorities are quite contemporary. Despite the contrapuntal qualities, the soprano line contains very lyrical melodies which help tie together some of the adventurous movement through distant key centers.
